This is a reference site that will help you better understand the function of various wires found in harnesses of different electrical units and circuits. Proper caution and care must be taken when testing such wires so that sensitive electrical components will not get damaged.

Disclaimer: The following information is being provided on an "as is" basis, and I assume no liability or responsibility resulting from the reliance of this information. It is your responsibility to verify any circuit before interfacing with it using a digital mulitimeter or computer safe tester.

SAFE TESTING:
Always use a Digital Multimeter (DMM) or Computer Safe test-light when probing / checking wires. A cheap test-light is shy of a short circuit and can damage sensitive components.

It's best to probe the terminals of the harnesses instead of probing through the insulation of a wire. High humidity can dramatically increase corrosion of exposed wires.
